Sports outsole material classification and performance introduction

1.  Rubber: used for all kinds of sports shoes outsole.  Advantages: good wear resistance, skid resistance, elasticity, not easy to break, good softness, good elongation, stable shrinkage, good hardness, good bending.  Disadvantages: heavy weight, easy to spit frost (quality problems), not easy to corrosion (environmental problems)

2. PU: polymer polyurethane synthetic material, often used for basketball, tennis shoes insole, can also be directly used for casual shoes outsole.  Advantages: high density, hardness, wear resistance, good elasticity, good oxidation resistance, easy corrosion conducive to environmental protection, not easy to wrinkle.  Disadvantages: strong water absorption, easy to yellow, easy to break, poor elongation, water resistance, bottom perishable.

3. EVA: vinyl acetate copolymer, polymer material.  Often used for jogging, walking, casual shoes, foot training shoes.  Advantages: light, good elasticity, good flexibility, not easy to wrinkle, with excellent coloring, suitable for all kinds of climate.  Disadvantages: easy water absorption, not easy corrosion adverse environmental protection, easy to dirty.  


4.  PHYLON (MD) : EVA two high pressure molding products, international running shoes, tennis shoes, basketball shoes in the bottom of the main material, can also be used for leisure shoes outsole.  Advantages: light, elastic, fine appearance, softness is good.  Easy to clean, good hardness, density, tension, tear and elongation.  Disadvantages: not easy to corrosion adverse environmental protection, easy to wrinkle at high temperature, easy to shrink.  

5.  TPR: it is made of TPR granule after hot dissolving and injection molding. It is often used for jogging, walking, casual shoes, insole and outsole.  Advantages: easy to model, cheap price.  Disadvantages: heavy material, poor wear (not wear), poor softness, poor bending (not folding), poor shock absorption capacity

6.  Performance comparison: TPR ratio is heavy, heavy, elastic, wear resistance is general.  The proportion of rubber bottom is larger, but softer, very wear-resisting, strong grip, but poor elasticity, generally used in indoor football shoes and casual shoes.  EVA bottom is very light, elastic, but wear a long time to reduce the elasticity, become a little more practical.  PU, MD bottom elastic and durable deformation, movement is more flexible and comfortable, small proportion, very light, so the use of more widely (PU than MD density is better shock absorption, but also relatively heavy).  Generally large film are rubber, wear-resistant and non-slip.  

7.  In terms of price, TPR is the cheapest, PU=TPR×2 times, MD=TPR×4 times, MD air cushion =TPR×4 times, PU air cushion =TPR× 4-6 times.
